Madam Kerosene as she is fondly called by the residents of the boisterous Angwan Gude town of Kuje Area Council in the outskirts of Abuja City, FCT is a totally confused lady as at this post. One would ask why a petty trader that sells the much needed kerosene commodity which in turn ensures that food is kept on the table for her family would close shop and be in a state of despair for weeks on end.
The above thoughts form the prelude to this post. Please share this to as many people as possible as we journey into a most painful part that showcases the peak of wickedness.
In the first quarter of the year 2009, a certain man named Charles Ikeji was caught red handed by his wife as he tried to have carnal knowledge of a little girl that has been brought to help his wife in doing domestic jobs in their home. The wife who was justifiably angry with her spouse simply packed up her belongings and left the home with her four children and the little domestic help.
On getting to her parents’ house in faraway Imo State, she was prevailed upon by her relations to return to her matrimonial home and give Charles a second chance. This she did on the condition that Charles must undergo a deliverance session at their local church. Charles gladly obliged and thing settled to normalcy once more in their home front. Unknown to her, during the tumultuous days of Charles apologizing and the Pastors laying hands on Charles, he finally had his way with the domestic maid aged 12 and his niece aged 9 who happened to live with his Mother in their hometown in Imo State.
Days turned to weeks and weeks became months and suddenly Charles felt an all knowing stir return to him as he watched his little girl become 4-years. Charles started having carnal knowledge of his little girl from time to time. This has been going on for the past 3 years as he was able to trick his wife into believing that he was a changed man. The little daughter had been warned by Charles that if she tells Mummy, then all will go sour for her.
This continued until one morning (12th of April, 2012) the baby of the house who is 3-years old woke up to complain to mummy that her “bombom” is paining her. On closer examination, Mummy discovered vaginal wounds on her yet to mature “bombom” to her utter amazement. It was a heart wrenching moment when baby girl told Mummy that Daddy had put in his something into her “bombom” two nights before.
Thankfully, Charles had travelled to the village that same day as such the coast was clear for Madam Kerosene to rush to a nearby Social Welfare Center. Baby girl was rushed to Kuje General Hospital for treatment by the Social Workers at the Center.
The next stage was now to get Charles Ikeji in for questioning. On his return from the village trip, he was approached by one of the social workers and he denied vehemently threatening to show his wife pepper for rubbing his name in the mud. Not deterred by his bravado, his wife formally reported the case to the Kuje Police Station and Mr. Charles was promptly arrested.
On further investigation by the Police, Charles Ikeji confessed to committing the crime, an offence that is contrary to the provisions of Section 282 of the Penal Code.
Charles Ikeji is now cooling off in prison custody after he formally confessed to an Upper Area Court in Gwagwalada on the 16th of April, 2012.
Investigations are over, now the case continues as Madam Kerosene is in a state of utter confusion, she needs all the advice and help she can get to be able to put her family in order and most importantly counsel her little girls properly.
