Faith Meets Fashion Show is a celebration of womanhood; it is to appreciate the status of women in Islam, how much they are revered and respected. It is an exclusive event for women and the beauty of their modesty and simplicity. It is an opportunity for women to mingle and network!

 

Leading international Islamic designers are scheduled to be in Abuja this week, for the second edition of the Islamic international fashion show tagged ‘Faith Meets Fashion Show’ organized by Muslim Identity (MID), an Islamic oriented business entity based in Abuja.
While addressing journalists in Abuja, the chief executive officer of MID, Abdulhameed Adetona stated that international Islamic designers like Silk Route, Aab and Modesty Active from the UK, Al-Farah, Artizara from America, Bokitta and Ostora from Egypt and Lebanon respectively, while three domestic brands Emerald MO, Eyesha and Twinkletowne will also unveiled be on the runway.
According to Mr. Adetona, ‘although the fashion meet is exclusively for women, Lawung a designer based in the UK that specialises in male executive Jalabiyyah will also participate.’
‘Faith Meets Fashion’ Show is organised by MID in collaboration with its International Clothing Partner, Islamic Design House, (UK).  Adetona said the event “is aimed at extolling the beauty inherent in Islamic Fashion and bringing together Muslim female personalities from all walks of life”.
According to the CEO, the wife of the Vice President, Amina Sambo, will be the special guest of honour, while top Muslim female dignitaries such as wives of state governors, female muslim ministers and wives of muslim ministers, female Muslim National Assembly Members and wives of Muslim National Assembly members, and other top brass in the society are expected at the event.
Mr. Adetona said 11 brands would be on the runway, out of which only one will be for men and even that one would be showcased by young boys.
Throwing light on the programme's emphasis on women, Mr. Adetona said “the event is a celebration of womanhood; it is to appreciate the status of women in Islam, how much they are revered and respected. It is an exclusive event for women and the beauty of their modesty and simplicity. It is an opportunity for women to mingle and network,” he said.
